To assist you in finding out how much material you need, use our material calculator to estimate the material for your project.

The Calculator helps you to estimate the tonnage of material required for your job.

Note! These calculators require a JavaScript-enabled browser to run!

To use the Material Calculator:

  • enter the width, length, and thickness of your job,

  • select the thickness in feet or inches

  • click on either Rock w/ Fines (ie.,2A, 3A mod. 6x0, etc), Clean Rock (1B, 2B, #3, #4, etc) , Fines/Dust or Top Soil/Dirt

  • the Rock w/ Fines, Clean Rock, Fines/Dust and Top Soil/Dirt selections will automatically enter the density of the material

  • click on the Calculate button


The calculator will estimate the number of tons of stone that you will need.

.  Next time you are on you job site and you are not sure how much more material you need, pull out your android smart phone and use our app to esimate.

Please note that densities will vary somewhat between different loads, but the default values assigned for Clean Rock,  Rock with Fines and Fines/Dust, are good standard "rules of thumb" for estimating.

Please note again that this is only an estimate and weights will change with moisture content and the amount of fines with the rock but this should give you a good idea of the amount of stone you may need for your project.
